Overview of Mission 2010 Project

Lourdes has embarked on a $70 million, 3-year construction project to update and expand the hospital. New Main EntranceAfter three years of planning and designing, Lourdes master facility project - now called Mission 2012: Building Tomorrow's Healthcare Today - will bring new technology to Lourdes and provide patients with a more streamlined system of obtaining outpatient services.

The project consists of multiple construction phases, which began in March 2009. The project is estimated to be complete in October 2012.

The project will include:

  • Expansion and modernization of the Emergency Department
  • Addition of a new open MRI
  • Addition of two new surgical suites
  • FEMA approved and funded flood wall
  • Construction of a new Ambulatory Care Building that will house Lourdes' Gastroenterology (GI) Suite, a registration area, an outpatient blood draw lab area, a pre-admission testing area and Lourdes Rehabilitation Department
  • A new two-story main entrance connecting the new Ambulatory Care Building and the existing hospital
  • Expansion, redesign and modernization of the Radiology Department
  • A multi-story parking garage will be the final phase beginning in 2012

  • Emergency Department - Phase I - Completed May 2010
  • Operating Room - Completed April 2010
  • Open MRI - Completed April 2010
  • Flood Wall (construction begins) - Completed

Phase II

  • Emergency Department - Phase II - Completed November 2010
  • Ambulatory Care Center (construction begins) In Progress
  • New Main Lobby (construction begins) Completed October 2011
  • Flood Wall (construction completed) - Completed July 2010

Phase III

  • Radiology Completed January 2012
  • Ambulatory Care Center (construction continues)

Phase IV

  • Laser Eye Care
  • Relocation of services into completed Ambulatory Care Center

Phase V

  • Finish Emergency Department
  • Parking Garage (construction begins - to be completed in 2013)
