needs. Lourdes is truly honored to have received these
designations as it reflects upon the dedication of our orthopedic
team to provide the absolute best care for our patients," commented
David Patak, Lourdes President/CEO.
The Healthgrades study found that
patients treated in hospitals receiving 5 stars had, on average, a
61% lower risk of experiencing a complication than in 1 star
Additionally, approximately 183,534
in-hospital complications could potentially have been avoided if
all hospitals performed at a 5 star level.

hospital stay, and post discharge care ensuring the patient has the
quickest and safest return to normal activities. In addition to the
Healthgrades awards the Lourdes Joint Academy has also been
recognized by Blue Cross/Blue Shield which has awarded it their

Healthgrades independently measures
hospitals based on data that hospitals submit to the federal

hospital pays to be measured. Healthgrades risk adjusts for patient
demographic characteristics and clinical risk factors, thereby
taking into account how sick patients are upon admission.
